LIBRA

Unlike Virgo, it was easy to think of competitions that Libra could be good at. Libra has always been associated with balance and to a slightly lesser degree to artistic attributes so the most obvious place to start looking was Artistic Gymnastics. And I was not disappointed. It seems that Floor Exercises, whether performed by men or women, is their forte and here is the chart that shows it.

This is significant at around the 1 in 50 level.

From here, it was an easy task to look for sporting competitions that required a greater than average degree of balance. The next one I found was Long Jumping. Taking all long jumping and triple jumping competitions together gives the following chart.

All Long and Triple Jump Competitions

It is significant for Libra at around the 1 in 100 level.

There are also two Olympic Sports requiring balance that Libra medallists score highly on.

They are significantly better at Curling and get more medals than any other sign in Football (Soccer). These sports are of particular interest because, as well as requiring a very good sense of balance, they demonstrate what I think is another Libran attribute.

It appears that Librans have an above average ability to curve balls and stones used in sport. For example, in Curling, stones are often “curled” into a ring to avoid other stones that have been placed directly in front of the ring on the ice. In football, being able to bend the ball is a prime factor and contributes to it being called “the beautiful game”.

I believe this explains another positive significance I found for Libran medallists in Table Tennis singles. For Table Tennis, Wikipedia tells us that “Certain world-class players can impart spin approaching 9000 r.p.m. on table tennis balls.” and that “Ball spin …plays an important part in competitive table tennis matches”.

Putting these significant results together along with a result I found regarding the number of Libran spinners compared with other signs in my Ashes cricketers compilation, gives this chart, with a probability of Libran athletes coming from a chance distribution in the region of 1 in 180,000.

 Curiosity Corner

I have noticed that Gemini, Libra and Aquarius often go together, i.e. if one sign does well, so do the other two. These three signs are traditionally thought to go together because they are all thought to be Air signs.
